Kuwaiti Citizen Arrested for Marijuana Cultivation and Drug Trafficking

Kuwaiti authorities have apprehended a Kuwaiti national in the Doha area following a targeted operation by the General Directorate for Drug Control. The arrest was made after extensive surveillance and investigation operations allegedly revealed the suspect's involvement in cultivating marijuana and possessing illegal substances for both trafficking and personal consumption.

The Ministry of Interior reported that the International Control Department spearheaded the operation. Investigators gathered crucial intelligence indicating the suspect was actively engaged in growing marijuana. This information led authorities to pinpoint the location of a farm where the illicit cultivation was reportedly taking place. Following the completion of necessary surveillance and search procedures, security personnel successfully arrested the suspect.

During the operation, authorities seized a significant quantity of narcotics, including 6 kilograms of marijuana and 250 grams of hashish. Additionally, equipment used for cultivating marijuana and a substantial amount of cash, amounting to KD 17,820, were confiscated. The suspect, along with all seized items, has been handed over to the competent legal authorities to undergo the necessary legal proceedings in accordance with Kuwaiti law.

The Ministry of Interior reiterated its unwavering commitment to combating drug trafficking, possession, and cultivation. The ministry stressed its ongoing efforts to protect society from the pervasive dangers associated with narcotics, underscoring its dedication to maintaining public safety and security.
