The Kwankwasiyya Movement has escalated its demand for transparency, calling on the Nigerian Presidency to fully account for the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council. The movement asserts that the issue transcends individual actions and has become a critical test of the Federal Government's commitment to transparency and accountability.

In a statement released by spokesperson Habibu Mohammed, the movement highlighted the apparent contradiction between the Presidency's public denial of the council's existence and reports of a substantial N1 billion appropriation for the entity in the 2026 budget. This discrepancy, they argue, raises serious questions that require urgent clarification. "This is no longer about one man. It has become a question of public accountability," the movement stated, posing critical questions about the budget allocation's origin, approval, and processing, and whether any public funds were released.

Furthermore, the Kwankwasiyya Movement cautioned that the ongoing controversy could damage Nigeria's international reputation among foreign investors. They noted that investors evaluate not only economic policies but also the integrity of public institutions. Any ambiguity regarding the authenticity of government bodies or appointments risks undermining confidence in Nigeria's governance and investment climate. The movement urged the Presidency to publish details of the budgetary provision and called upon the National Assembly and anti-corruption agencies to conduct thorough investigations.
