Kwara gov promises new Chief Imam official vehicles

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has promised brand-new official vehicles, including a Jeep and a bus, to the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani. The governor made this pledge during a courtesy visit to the cleric in Ilorin on Tuesday.

During the visit, Governor AbdulRazaq sought prayers for peace, stability, and continued development in Kwara State. He was accompanied by the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Lawal Olohungbe, and other government officials. The governor congratulated Sheikh Dasuki on his appointment, describing it as a significant development that reflects continuity, inclusiveness, and unity within the Muslim community.

The 42-year-old Imam Fulani was appointed as the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate on Wednesday, June 10. The governor had previously congratulated the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, on the selection, calling it a reflection of wise leadership and careful consideration within the Emirate's traditional and spiritual hierarchy.

Prominent Islamic scholars, including Sheikh Abdulkadir Oba Sholagberu and Sheikh Sohibul Bayan, have commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his consistent support of religious institutions and spiritual leaders in the state.
