Kwara gov rewards two law school best graduates with ₦5m each, scholarships

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has honored two indigenes for their outstanding academic achievements at the Nigerian Law School graduation ceremony. Israel Adekunle Adeniyi, who emerged as the overall best graduating student, and Oluwatomisin Promise Daniel, the second-best graduating student, were each rewarded with N5 million and a promise of funded postgraduate studies abroad.

Yesterday in Ilorin, I hosted two academic wonders, Israel Adekunle Adeniyi and Oluwatomisin Promise Daniel, who recently won our state new laurels at the 2026 Nigerian Law School Graduation in Abuja.

The governor hosted the two scholars in Ilorin, celebrating their success and encouraging other youths in the state to strive for excellence. Both Adeniyi and Daniel are graduates of the University of Ilorin and proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in Abuja.

Israel, from Offa, was the overall best graduating student at the ceremony, while Oluwatomisin, an indigene of Idofin Igbana in Oke Ero, was the second-best graduating student for the same year. Both legal scholars graduated from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

AbdulRazaq stated that the recognition was intended to celebrate their hard work, commitment, and brilliance, serving as motivation for other students. He expressed his fascination with their plans to pursue Master's degrees at Ivy League institutions and pledged to fund their academic endeavors upon securing admission.

I felt it was necessary to personally honour their hard work, commitment, and brilliance to motivate others to also do well and make their families and our state proud.

This initiative underscores the governor's commitment to recognizing and supporting excellence. He dismissed the notion that education no longer guarantees success, citing the achievements of these young lawyers as proof of the value of academic dedication. The governor emphasized that the state cares for excellence and hard work in any field.

In addition to the cash gifts of ₦5 million apiece, I was fascinated by their plans of going for their Master’s degrees at some Ivy League institutions across the Atlantic, and I accordingly pledged to fund this academic endeavour once they secure their admission.
