Kwara Governor Praises Tinubu's Focus on Food Security, Agricultural Growth

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq lauded President Bola Tinubu for making food security and agricultural transformation central to national development. Speaking in Ilorin during the distribution of relief materials to farmers impacted by natural disasters, AbdulRazaq highlighted the ongoing challenge of flooding in riverine communities.

He reiterated the state government's commitment to agricultural transformation through strategic investments and partnerships, citing the recent Special Maize Farm Project targeting 1,000 farmers.

The initiative aims to provide improved hybrid maize seeds, agricultural inputs, and technical support, aligning with the food security goals of the "Renewed Hope Agenda." Governor AbdulRazaq encouraged beneficiaries to maximize the support, stating, "Let these items become seeds of renewed productivity, for every great harvest begins with a single seed planted in hope." He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, N-HYPPADEC, and all stakeholders for their contributions to building resilient farming communities.

Adding to the support, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, announced a N100 million intervention for farmers affected by dry season disasters in Kwara. Yelwa explained that this donation aims to boost food production and the socio-economic growth of affected farmers, fulfilling a prior promise to support those who lost farmlands and crops. "We are here to distribute relief material," he confirmed, underscoring the commission's role in mitigating disaster impacts.
