Kwara PDP gov candidate receives return certificate

Bolakale Kawu, the Peoples Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate for governor in Kwara State, has formally received his Certificate of Return from the party's national leadership. The presentation, held at the PDP's National Secretariat in Abuja, marks a significant step in the party's preparations for the 2027 governorship election.

Today, I officially received my Certificate of Return as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kwara State Governorship election.

During the ceremony, PDP National Chairman Abdulrahman Muhammed presented the certificate to Kawu. In his acceptance speech, Kawu expressed gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in him by the party and its supporters. He described the certificate as a symbol of renewed commitment to the journey ahead and pledged to work collaboratively with party members, stakeholders, and the people of Kwara.

Kawu outlined his vision for a "greater Kwara," emphasizing a people-centered agenda focused on development, inclusiveness, and good governance. He assured party faithful of his dedication to engaging with stakeholders across the state and working towards progress and development. The PDP candidate also commended the transparency and credibility of the process that led to his nomination.

Separately, the PDP criticized the alleged involvement of traditional rulers in the internal political affairs of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State. The opposition party expressed concern over reports of traditional rulers being involved in political developments within the APC, stating that many residents are worried about the increasing politicization of traditional institutions.
