Kyrgyz police deny reports of 30 missing criminal cases

Authorities in Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region have firmly refuted claims circulating on social media alleging the disappearance of approximately 30 criminal cases. The reports, which gained traction on Facebook, suggested that numerous cases vanished from the archives of the Alamedin District Department of Internal Affairs during ongoing renovation work.

In response to the unsubstantiated rumors, the Chuy region's Main Department of Internal Affairs (GUVD) issued a statement clarifying the situation. They emphasized that, in accordance with departmental regulations, an annual inventory of criminal cases stored in the Alamedin District archives is conducted. The results of the 2026 inventory confirmed that all criminal cases held in archival storage are present and accounted for in full.

"The information being circulated does not correspond to reality," stated the press service of the GUVD of the Chuy region. The department stressed that the allegations are false and urged citizens to exercise caution and refrain from spreading unverified information. They encouraged the public to rely solely on official sources for accurate news and updates regarding law enforcement matters.
