Kyrgyz Prime Minister Inspects Modernization at Balykchy Transshipment Base

Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, conducted an inspection of the Balykchy transshipment base operated by Kumtor Gold Company, focusing on the ongoing modernization projects. The visit aimed to assess the progress of upgrades to the base's production and technical infrastructure.

During the visit, Kasymaliev received a detailed briefing on the current modernization initiatives. These efforts are designed to significantly boost the operational efficiency of Kumtor Gold Company, streamline logistics, and accelerate the movement of goods. The base's strategic location along the Balykchy-Naryn highway makes it a vital hub for the company's operations.

Kasymaliev highlighted the importance of the base's modernization for the overall stability of the Kumtor mine. He described the mine as a flagship enterprise crucial to Kyrgyzstan's economy, underscoring the need for its continuous and efficient operation.

Since last year, the Balykchy base has undergone substantial upgrades. These include the installation of new, larger fuel storage tanks, increasing capacity from 12,400 to over 32,000 cubic meters, and the redevelopment of 1.2 hectares of the base's territory. These improvements are expected to enhance the base's capacity and operational capabilities.
