Kyrgyz State Technical University Launches Master's Program in Cryptography and Blockchain

The Kyrgyz State Technical University (KSTU) is expanding its cybersecurity and digital technology training with a new master's program focused on cryptography and blockchain technologies. Rector Mirlan Chynybaev announced the initiative at the CYBERFINANCE 2026 forum in Bishkek, highlighting the increasing need for skilled professionals in the face of economic digitalization and rising cyber threats.

Chynybaev stated that the university is responding to the critical issue of cybersecurity by developing new educational pathways tailored to state and business requirements. In addition to the cryptography and blockchain program, KSTU has opened a new department dedicated to intellectual property and digital law. This department will prepare specialists to legally support the digital economy and protect intellectual rights in the evolving technological landscape.

University leadership believes these advanced educational programs will create a vital talent pool for the financial sector, government agencies, and the IT industry, where the demand for information security experts continues to surge. The forum itself underscored the importance of qualified personnel, bringing together representatives from the National Bank, educational institutions, international organizations, and IT companies to discuss digital finance security and combat cyber fraud.
