Kyrgyzstan allocates 15 million som for children's summer recreation

Kyrgyzstan is dedicating around 15 million som to ensure children have a summer break. The "Altyn Balalyk" rehabilitation center, located on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake in Cholpon-Ata, will host children from disadvantaged families, orphans, and those with disabilities from across the country.

The queue is large, there are many who want to go. Therefore, in order to ensure fair distribution of vouchers, the same children cannot go on vacation every year.

The first group, comprising 375 children, is set to begin their recreation on June 10. Gulmira Okoeva, head of the child protection department, noted the significant demand for these spots. To ensure fairness, the program limits repeat attendance for children each year. Okoeva also mentioned that a slight decrease in the number of children attending is expected due to increased costs per spot.

Due to the fact that the cost of a voucher has increased, the number of children who will be sent for health improvement has slightly decreased.

Social workers will be assigned to the children, and parents can accompany children with disabilities. The center will offer various activities, including clubs, computer classes, and English language courses. Labor and Social Security Minister Kanat Sagynbaev emphasized the importance of safe recreation and pledged to personally inspect the process.
