Kyrgyzstan approves procedure for using national halal mark

Kyrgyzstan has officially approved a temporary procedure for the use of its national halal conformity mark, a move designed to regulate and standardize halal products and services within the country. The corresponding order was signed in accordance with the Law «On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic» and related documents governing the Halal Industry Development Center under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. This new regulation introduces a temporary framework for the national mark's application. It includes a detailed regulation on the procedure for its use, a sample certificate required for its application, and a specific description of the national conformity mark itself. According to the approved document, businesses and service providers will only be permitted to use the national mark after they have successfully demonstrated compliance with established halal standards and have been issued the appropriate certificate. The mark will serve as official confirmation that products or services have undergone necessary testing and meet the stringent requirements of the halal industry. The procedure also outlines the rules for certificate issuance, the specific requirements for using the national mark, and its official description. Crucially, the use of the mark without proper authorization or in violation of the established guidelines is strictly prohibited. The Halal Industry Development Center is tasked with ensuring the official publication of this order. It will also be submitted to the Ministry of Justice for inclusion in the State Register of Regulatory Legal Acts and registered with the State Agency of Intellectual Property and Innovation. The agency is further instructed to organize the implementation of these new requirements, which will come into effect seven business days after their official publication.
