Kyrgyzstan Builds Depots for Year-Round North-South Road Maintenance

Kyrgyzstan is enhancing its road infrastructure by constructing three modern maintenance depots along the vital alternative North-South road. These facilities are designed to ensure the highway's year-round operability, a critical factor for transportation and logistics in the region.

Construction is already underway at the Kyzart Pass, marking the first of the three planned depots. The second depot will be situated in the Suzak district, near the village of Kalmak-Kyrchyn, where the foundation has been laid and construction is proceeding on schedule. Preparations are also in progress for the third depot, with specialists currently selecting a suitable land plot and developing the necessary design documentation.

Each depot will serve as a hub for essential road construction equipment, machinery, and fuel supplies. This strategic placement and resource allocation will empower road services to perform prompt maintenance, thereby guaranteeing the highway's functionality regardless of the season. The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan reported that these measures are crucial for maintaining the integrity and accessibility of this key transportation artery.
