Kyrgyzstan compares its engineering survey methods with foreign approaches

Kyrgyzstan is testing two approaches to engineering-geological surveys at a 14-story residential construction site on Shevchenko Street in Bishkek.

One company conducted the survey under Kyrgyzstan’s current technical standards. A second used technology developed by a Chinese corporation and based on standards adopted in China. The article says similar approaches are also used in Europe and the United States.

Drilling reached a depth of 29 meters. Specialists are comparing the methods for drilling speed, technology, sample quality, equipment and the results obtained.

The ministry says real-world comparative tests will help assess the effectiveness of each method and determine whether they could be used more widely in Kyrgyzstan.
