Kyrgyzstan gymnasts win medals at international tournament

Kyrgyzstan's young gymnasts achieved notable success at the Aerojack International Aerobics and Aerobic Gymnastics Competition in Novosibirsk, Russia. The athletes secured a haul of gold, silver, and bronze medals across individual and group categories, showcasing their talent on an international stage.

Team coach Amalia Akhtyamova expressed pride in the athletes' performance, noting that the competition featured over 300 participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. She emphasized that for many of the young Kyrgyz competitors, this was one of their first major international events. "Despite the high level of competition, Kyrgyz athletes won several medals in individual and group events," Akhtyamova stated.

The individual events saw success for Munira Asilbekova, who clinched gold in the 2016 girls' category, and Safiya Nursultanova, who earned silver. Dayana Baizhanova took bronze in the 2017 category, while Ayilin Kasymalieva secured silver among athletes born in 2018.

The team's most significant triumph came in the group exercises for the 9-11 age group, where they captured the gold medal. The coaching staff pointed out that this achievement is particularly impressive considering the lack of specialized aerobic gymnastics facilities and professional training platforms in Kyrgyzstan. The athletes' continued success is attributed to the dedication of their coaches and their ability to train effectively despite infrastructural limitations.
