Kyrgyzstan launches 'Electronic Consul' app for citizens abroad

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has introduced a new mobile application called "Electronic Consul." This digital service aims to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of consular services for Kyrgyz citizens residing abroad or those planning international travel.

Developed based on the existing Electronic Consul digital platform, the app serves as a direct communication channel between citizens and the Ministry, as well as Kyrgyzstan's foreign missions. Initially, users can access several consular services electronically, including obtaining a certificate of return to Kyrgyzstan, requesting official documents, scheduling appointments, and registering for consular services.

The application also provides up-to-date information on travel regulations, a comprehensive list of consular services, and contact details for Kyrgyz embassies and consulates worldwide. A key feature is the SOS function, designed for rapid response in emergency situations, allowing citizens to send urgent requests when abroad.

The ministry plans a phased expansion of the services available through the Electronic Consul app. Currently in its test phase, the application is available for download on Google Play, with an upcoming release expected on the App Store.
