Kyrgyzstan President: AI is the new driving force of world history

President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan has identified artificial intelligence as a pivotal force shaping the future of global history and economic development. Speaking at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana, Japarov underscored the transformative potential of AI beyond the IT sector, framing it as a "new reality."

"We bear responsibility daily for the security, stability, and well-being of millions of our citizens," Japarov stated, posing a critical question to the forum attendees. "And today, looking at the rapid development of technology, each of us inevitably faces a fundamental strategic question: how can we ensure that this colossal resource strengthens our sovereignty and does not turn our countries into passive consumers of foreign digital technologies and algorithms?"

The forum's theme, "EAEU in the Global Digital Race: Betting on Artificial Intelligence," directly addressed the strategic importance of AI for the economies and societies of participating states. Japarov suggested that AI can serve as a powerful tool for both technological advancement and institutional reform, leading to enhancements in public administration.

His remarks highlighted a growing concern among nations about maintaining digital sovereignty amidst rapid technological advancements. The challenge lies in harnessing the power of AI for national benefit while mitigating risks associated with dependency on foreign technologies and platforms.
