Kyrgyzstan remains among EAEU leaders in freight transportation

Kyrgyzstan continues to hold a significant position among member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) regarding freight transportation, according to recent data from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Between January and May 2026, the EAEU experienced a general increase in both passenger and freight traffic compared to the previous year. Passenger traffic within the union grew by 0.8 percent overall. National indicators showed notable increases in Belarus (7.8 percent) and Armenia (6.1 percent), with Kazakhstan also reporting a 4.1 percent rise. Kyrgyzstan recorded a 3.9 percent increase in passenger traffic during the same period.

In terms of freight transportation, Kyrgyzstan demonstrated a solid performance, with a 3.4 percent increase in traffic during the reporting period. This growth places Kyrgyzstan favorably within the EAEU's logistics landscape. Other member states also saw gains in freight movement, including Armenia, which reported a substantial 12.6 percent increase, and Belarus, with a 1.1 percent rise.

The continued growth in both passenger and freight traffic underscores the ongoing economic integration and activity within the EAEU member countries. Kyrgyzstan's consistent contribution to freight transportation highlights its role in the region's logistical network.
