Kyrgyzstan's Bishkek Stadium Unveils World-Class Athletic Track

Bishkek's central stadium, named after Dolon Omurzakov, now boasts world-class athletic running tracks, thanks to the installation of modern technology by the Swiss brand CONICA. This significant upgrade positions the arena to vie for a World Athletics certificate, a crucial step for hosting international track and field events.

The Ministry of Construction reports that this is the first time such advanced athletic track technology has been implemented in Kyrgyzstan's central stadium. The construction work has concluded, and the new surface adheres to international requirements for various athletic disciplines, including running, jumping, and shot put. The top layer of the tracks is guaranteed for 12 years and is engineered to withstand the local climate conditions.

Beyond the technological advancement, the renovation also expanded the track from eight lanes to nine, aligning with global standards. Organizers are optimistic that this modernization will enable the stadium to secure the World Athletics certification, thereby opening doors to hosting competitions that meet the highest international benchmarks. The project signifies a major leap forward for athletic infrastructure in Kyrgyzstan.
