Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Construction Demands Stricter Quality Control on Northern Bypass Road Project

Specialists from the State Department of Architectural and Construction Control have conducted a monitoring of the reconstruction of Bishkek's Northern Bypass Road. The inspection focused on specific segments of the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent highway, from kilometer 230.7 to 255, and the Bishkek-Balykchy-Naryn-Torugart highway, from kilometer 0 to 9. The total length of the reconstructed section is 33.4 kilometers.

The project is being executed by the contracting organization "China Road" LLC. The primary objective of the monitoring was to ensure compliance with construction legislation, technical regulations, and building codes. A key focus was placed on strengthening the quality control of construction and installation work.

During the inspection, specialists paid close attention to the conformity of the work with design solutions, the quality of construction, and the availability of certificates for building materials. They also verified the results of laboratory tests, reviewed the executive documentation, and checked adherence to labor protection requirements, road safety measures, and the presence of temporary road signs at the construction site.

Following the monitoring, recommendations were issued to the contractor to enhance quality control and ensure the timely execution of laboratory research on construction materials. The Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services stated that it will continue to oversee the implementation of this significant national road project.
