Kyrgyzstan Security Services Veteran Talant Razakov Dies

Talant Razakov, a distinguished veteran of Kyrgyzstan's security services, has died. The press center of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB) announced his passing. Razakov held the rank of colonel in retirement. Born on September 9, 1955, in the Uzgen district of Osh Oblast, Razakov's career in intelligence began after graduating from Moscow State University's Faculty of Journalism in 1979. He joined the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR in 1981. Throughout his extensive service, Razakov progressed from an operational officer to hold leadership roles within various departments of the KGB and its successor, the GKNB of the Kyrgyz Republic. He was recognized with state and departmental awards for his contributions. Beyond his service, Razakov was also an accomplished author. He penned several books focusing on the history and operational aspects of national security agencies, contributing to the understanding and documentation of the field.
