Kyrgyzstan thrashes Kazakhstan 12-0 to win kok-boru title for sixth time

Kyrgyzstan completed a 12-0 victory over Kazakhstan in the kok-boru final at the Sixth World Nomad Games, securing the title for the sixth time.

The Kyrgyz team added four scores in the third period. Baitегin Omurbekov scored the next salym, Ernazar Koshunbaev made it the 10th, and Mirbek Mutashov added the 11th, his second of the match. Seitbek Anarbek uulu scored the 12th and final salym.

Kyrgyzstan had already built a commanding lead, going 4-0 ahead after the first period and extending it to 8-0 after the second.

The final in Cholpon-Ata took place before a full house. Seats quickly ran out after President Sadyr Japarov allowed anyone who wanted to attend to enter the arena, while fans continued arriving until the final minutes.

The next decisive match at the hippodrome is scheduled to feature Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan again, this time in the zhер ulak, or kokpar, final.
