Kyrgyzstan to Host 21 World Leaders for SCO Summit and World Nomad Games

Kyrgyzstan is gearing up to host an unprecedented number of high-profile international guests in late August and early September. The country anticipates the arrival of around 21 heads of state for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the opening ceremony of the VI World Nomad Games.

This significant gathering will include presidents and prime ministers from the ten member states of the SCO: Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The main session of the SCO Heads of State Council is scheduled for September 1 in Bishkek, a date confirmed by the organization's official website. Earlier, a meeting of foreign ministers in Cholpon-A in July focused on preparations for the Bishkek summit, with representatives from all ten member states present.

Several key leaders have confirmed their attendance or received invitations. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the SCO summit in Bishkek, with Russia affirming its readiness to continue active cooperation within the organization. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is also expected to attend both the SCO summit and the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games, having received invitations from Japarov.

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has also been invited to both the SCO summit and the World Nomad Games opening ceremony, with President Japarov confirming this invitation following discussions in late July. Beyond the SCO member states, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has been invited to Kyrgyzstan for an official visit, which will include attending the SCO summit, the World Nomad Games, and events related to Kyrgyzstan's Independence Day.
