Kyrgyzstan Urges China to Speed Up Extradition of Convicted Citizens

Kyrgyzstan has formally asked China to accelerate the process of extraditing its citizens who have been convicted and are serving sentences in Chinese prisons. The request was put forward during recent interdepartmental consular consultations held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

During the high-level talks, the Kyrgyz delegation urged their Chinese counterparts to provide further assistance and speed up the review of applications for the transfer of Kyrgyz nationals. These individuals are currently incarcerated in various correctional facilities across China.

The consultations underscore the ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two neighboring countries on judicial and consular matters. Kyrgyzstan's appeal highlights a desire to facilitate the return of its citizens, potentially for them to serve the remainder of their sentences in their home country.
