Kyrgyzstan wins two gold medals at Asian Youth Wrestling Championship

Kyrgyzstan has started the Asian Youth Wrestling Championship in Da Nang, Vietnam, with a strong showing, securing two gold medals on the opening day. Wrestlers Yryskeldi Khamzaev and Erlan Mars uulu claimed the top spots in their respective weight categories.

Khamzaev competed in the 72kg division, navigating through a group stage with victories over opponents from India, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. He advanced to the semifinals, where he defeated a Vietnamese competitor swiftly. In the final, Khamzaev faced Nurmukhammed Ibrahim from Kazakhstan. Despite trailing early, Khamzaev mounted a comeback to win 13-5, earning the Asian championship title.

Mars uulu achieved gold in the 82kg category. He also dominated his group stage with two early wins, securing a first-place finish to enter the semifinals. There, he convincingly beat a Kazakhstani wrestler 10-0. In the final match, Mars uulu proved superior to an Uzbek opponent, also claiming the gold medal.
