Kyung Hee University Awarded Top Prize for International Student Employment and Entrepreneurship Support

Kyung Hee University has been awarded the Grand Prize in the Ministry of Education's 'Excellent University for International Student Employment and Entrepreneurship' contest, receiving a commendation and plaque from the Minister of Education. The university's success stems from its comprehensive growth system, designed to support international students through every stage, from initial academic adaptation to long-term career planning and job placement.

The contest, organized by the Ministry of Education and supported by educational associations, aims to identify and promote best practices among universities supporting international students' employment, entrepreneurship, and settlement in Korea. Kyung Hee University's winning entry, titled 'Building an Integrated Growth System for Employment and Entrepreneurship Based on the International Student Core Competency Certification System (KHU-PASS),' highlighted its strategic, concrete, and effective approach.

KHU-PASS is a certification system designed to help international students adapt to university life and Korean society, enabling them to proactively shape their career paths toward employment or entrepreneurship. Kyung Hee University's program goes beyond single-event job programs, structuring the student journey into distinct phases: academic and social adaptation, career exploration and competency development, and finally, job preparation and social integration. This phased approach, tailored to individual student needs, focuses on developing globally competitive talent.

This recognition underscores Kyung Hee University's internationalization strategy, which views international students not just as recipients of education but as future leaders connecting academia, local communities, and industries. The university intends to further refine the KHU-PASS system, enhance collaboration with centers like the Future Talent Center and Campus Town Center, and expand customized support for career development, employment, and entrepreneurship, fostering a sustainable ecosystem for international student growth.
