La Calera crushes Santiago Wanderers 4-0 to reach Copa Chile last 16

Unión La Calera has secured its spot in the Copa Chile round of 16 with a commanding 0-4 away victory against Santiago Wanderers. The dominant performance at the Estadio Municipal de La Pintana saw the "cementeros" seal their advancement in the tournament's Group D.

The team finished second in their group with 11 points, trailing only league leaders Universidad de Chile. This win eliminated both Unión San Felipe, who accumulated seven points, and Santiago Wanderers, who finished with just three. La Calera's control over the match was evident from the first half, where they built a significant lead.

Matías Campos López opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed quickly by Yerko Leiva in the eleventh. Cristopher Díaz extended the lead just before halftime, making it 0-3. In the second half, Maximiliano Fernández added a fourth goal in the 64th minute to seal the comprehensive win.

With this victory, Unión La Calera now prepares to face Universidad Católica in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Universidad de Chile is set to compete against Everton in their next match.
