La Noche de Mirtha: Juana Viale Steps In for La Chiqui in a Fresh Look and Discusses Her Grandmother’s Health

Juana Viale took her grandmother’s place at the La Noche de Mirtha table after Mirtha Legrand was unable to record the program because of the flu. She opened Saturday night’s show by saying she was “putting on the jersey” because her grandmother was ill and sending her a kiss as she recovered.

Viale initially joked that Legrand was recuperating with teas and natural ointments, then immediately corrected herself: “Just kidding, all medication, all of it.” She added that she hoped to do well and had “all the energy and vitality” needed to host the program.

For the occasion, Viale chose an asymmetrical red dress with ruffles, made from crepe silk in designer Evangelina Bomparola’s new collection. She joked that women sometimes endure the cold to wear something beautiful, and said, “I feel very fresh tonight.” Her styling also included a twisted updo.

The guest table drew attention because it brought together Ana Rosenfeld, who legally represents Wanda Nara, and Elba Marcovecchio, Mauro Icardi’s lawyer. Journalists Karina Iavícoli and Luciana Rubinska completed the panel.

Legrand’s absence became known on Friday afternoon and prompted concern because of its health-related cause. According to La Nación, her doctor advised the 99-year-old presenter to remain at home and rest until she fully recovered from a severe bout of flu. She had also missed three weeks of the program in April after a strong flu episode. Her last surgery came in 2023, when doctors implanted a latest-generation pacemaker.
