Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has lauded the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election held in the state, characterizing it as a model of internal democracy, transparency, and inclusiveness. Following his participation in the direct primary at Ward E3 on Lagos Island, Governor Sanwo-Olu highlighted how this electoral system empowers party members at the grassroots to directly select their preferred candidate, reinforcing the APC's commitment to democratic principles.

This process shows that our party believes in democracy and inclusiveness. Party members have come out peacefully to exercise their civic responsibility and elect their preferred aspirant.

Sanwo-Olu expressed satisfaction with the professional conduct of electoral officials and party representatives, noting the impressive turnout and peaceful exercise of civic responsibility by party members. He specifically endorsed the Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, who emerged as the sole aspirant. The governor conveyed his strong confidence in Hamzat's leadership capabilities, experience, and understanding of Lagos State's governance, believing he is well-equipped to build upon the administration's achievements.
