Lagos Governor Awards N20 Million Each to Best Graduating LASU Students

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has awarded a N20 million cash gift each to the overall best graduating students from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions at Lagos State University (LASU). The governor announced this significant reward during the university's 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies held at the main campus in Ojo.

Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu and Visitor of the Lagos State University (LASU) today announced a cash gift of 20 million Naira (20,000,000) EACH for the Best Graduating Student(s) of the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Session(s).

The beneficiaries are Ayilara Olawale, who studied Project Management Technology and graduated with a 4.96 CGPA, and Adebanjo Oluolamide, an Aerospace Engineering graduate with a 4.97 CGPA. Both students achieved First Class Honours, reflecting their exceptional academic performance.

Governor Sanwo-Olu personally presented the cash gifts, emphasizing that they were his personal donation. This gesture aims to recognize and incentivize academic excellence among LASU students. The announcement was shared by Sanwo-Olu’s New Media aide, Jubril Gawat, on the social media platform X.

This recognition comes shortly after Oluolamide also received a N10 million prize from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme for his outstanding achievement. The combined convocation saw over 20,000 students graduate, with 494 achieving first-class honours, highlighting the university's commitment to academic rigor.
