Lagos RRS arrests miscreants terrorizing motorists in midnight Lekki-Ajah raid

The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) conducted a midnight raid along the Lekki–Ajah Expressway, apprehending individuals accused of preying on motorists. The operation, confirmed by the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, targeted those who allegedly harass, extort money, and damage vehicles when drivers refuse their demands.

Wahab stated that the RRS will persist with intelligence-led operations against criminal elements threatening public safety and hindering free movement across the state. This enforcement action comes in response to recurring reports of motorist harassment by suspected touts along the busy Lekki-Ajah corridor.

The operation was targeted at individuals who allegedly harass and intimidate motorists, extort money from them, and, in some instances, damage vehicles when motorists refuse to yield to their demands.

The RRS's intervention aims to restore order and security for commuters navigating this critical route, which has been a frequent site of such criminal activities.
