Lagos screens candidates for Auditor-General appointment

The Lagos State Civil Service Commission has concluded its executive assessment and screening for candidates vying for the position of State Auditor-General. This exercise follows the redeployment of the former Auditor-General and adheres to constitutional and state audit laws.

The commission, in collaboration with Messrs Intermarc Consulting, implemented a rigorous, competency-based assessment framework. Shortlisted candidates underwent a multi-stage selection process designed to uphold transparency, merit, and professionalism. The assessment panel included senior government officials, permanent secretaries, and experienced retired public servants.

Candidates were evaluated on a range of criteria, including technical competence, leadership ability, strategic thinking, integrity, and decision-making skills. Assessments included personnel record reviews, computer-based tests, written evaluations, oral presentations, case studies, group discussions, and an executive panel interview.

Boladele Dapo-Thomas, Chairman of the Lagos State Civil Service Commission, affirmed the commission's commitment to selecting only qualified and ethical professionals for leadership roles. She stated that the process reflects a dedication to strengthening accountability and excellence in governance. The outcome will inform the commission's recommendation to the governor for the final nomination.
