Lagos seals over 20 properties for planning infractions

The Lagos State Government has taken decisive action against illegal developments by sealing more than 20 properties in the Ikeja Local Government Area. The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) led the enforcement exercise, which targeted landed properties, unfinished buildings, and structures with unauthorized extensions.

This crackdown is part of a broader government initiative to curb violations of physical planning laws and ensure compliance with regulations. The state government recently launched a statewide documentation project, SCRAMP, to identify and manage informal public spaces.

Property owners had previously received contravention notices detailing steps for regularization before the enforcement action. Officials urged developers to obtain necessary permits before commencing construction or making structural alterations.
