Lai Pin-yu slams Huang Kuo-chang as 'political male insect' over book anecdote

Former legislator Lai Pin-yu has sharply criticized Taiwan People's Party Chairman Huang Kuo-chang, labeling him a "political male insect" who "long-term indulges in trampling on others." Lai's strong remarks were made in response to an anecdote in Huang's newly published book, "Moving Forward Towards the Light."

The book recounts an incident from 2018 when Huang participated in a protest regarding amendments to the Labor Standards Act. He described closing his eyes to rest and opening them to find his colleagues, including Hung Tzu-yung, gone. Hung Tzu-yung's husband, Eric Chu, revealed that at the time, Hung had recently suffered a miscarriage and was in a highly unstable condition, yet Huang allegedly used her situation to portray himself as a "lone hero."

The fact is, Huang Kuo-chang is a politician who consumes and distorts the truth even when a colleague is extremely weak due to a miscarriage and needs medical attention, just to brag about himself.

Lai Pin-yu expressed outrage on Facebook, stating that Huang Kuo-chang has a pattern of exploiting and distorting the truth, even concerning a colleague's severe health issues following a miscarriage, solely for self-promotion. She asserted that Huang lacks a true self and is merely a slave to his desires, consistently disregarding the feelings and well-being of others.

Lai further elaborated on Threads, calling Huang "extremely cheap" and expressing anger that such behavior has been tolerated for so long. She commented on Chu's post, conveying sympathy for Hung Tzu-yung and thanking Chu and Hung for revealing the truth, which others might have been hesitant to speak about. Lai reiterated her accusation that Huang uses sensitive personal situations for self-aggrandizement.
