Lana Barić completes filming of her debut feature film

After 24 days of filming in Zagreb, Lana Barić has completed “Eva nakon pada,” her first feature-length fiction film as a director and screenwriter.

The Croatian production follows Žana, a woman who uses the opportunity created by a major earthquake to fake her identity and begin a new life. Barić directs the film, wrote the screenplay and plays the lead role. The title takes inspiration from Auguste Rodin’s sculpture of the same name.

The cast includes Ermin Bravo, Klara Fiolić, Marija Škaričić, Matija Čigir, Snježana Sinovčić-Šiškov, Antonio Nuić and Ivana Roščić. Tin Ostrošić serves as director of photography, while Tomislav Pavlic edits. Tajana Čanić Stanković designed the sets, Katarina Bilan the costumes and Snježana Gorup the makeup.

Propeler Film produces the film with Serbian company Baš Čelik and Croatian partners Focus Media and Passion Project. Lana Matić and Boris T. Matić are producers, with Jelena Mitrović, Srdan Golubović, Barić and Irena Marković serving as co-producers. The project received support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, the Serbian Film Center and the MEDIA strand of Creative Europe, and developed through Split Script, TorinoFilmLab and EAVE.

Barić, born in Split, is a leading actor at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. She won a Golden Arena for the screenplay of “Tereza37,” which received six Golden Arenas, including best film, and became Croatia’s Oscar submission. She previously directed the short fiction films “Snow White” in 2022 and “Sola” in 2024.
