LAUTECH confirms disbursement of over N1.4bn NELFUND to students in 2025

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has affirmed its robust partnership with the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), confirming the successful disbursement of over ₦1.4 billion to its students in 2025. We affirm that the University enjoys a cordial and productive relationship with NELFUND and we remain deeply appreciative of the Fund’s invaluable support, including the successful disbursement of over ₦1.4 billion in 2025, which significantly eased financial pressures and expanded access to education for our students.

Recent reports had inadvertently created an impression of NELFUND facing difficulties in fund disbursement. LAUTECH has moved to clarify this misunderstanding, stating that their intention was solely to provide an update on the progress of applications and to reassure stakeholders. The university emphasized that there has been no suggestion of reluctance or failure on NELFUND's part, and that the process is actively moving forward. This clarification is crucial for maintaining confidence in the education loan scheme.

Further details reveal that out of approximately 19,000 students who applied for the NELFUND scheme, LAUTECH has meticulously verified over 15,000 applications. Within the current 2025/2026 Academic Session, 5,237 students have already received approval and are awaiting disbursement, while other verified applications are in various stages of processing.
