Lawmaker Chen Yu-chen defends playful exchange with rival over weight comments

Legislator Chen Yu-chen has responded to remarks made by New Taipei City mayoral candidate Lee Ssu-chuan, who commented on her weight during a visit to the Legislative Yuan. Lee Sichuan, who had mentioned losing 5 kilograms during his campaign, jokingly told Chen Yu-chen, "I see Chen Yu-chen hasn't lost weight yet."

The comment drew criticism from Democratic Progressive Party New Taipei City Councilor Dai Wei-shan, who called it inappropriate for a mayoral candidate to comment on a woman's physique. However, Chen Yu-chen dismissed the criticism, stating that she and Lee Sichuan are close friends and their exchange was merely lighthearted banter.
