Lawmaker Nwogu visits NNL Chairman Aluo to offer condolences

Federal lawmaker Hon Matthew Nwogu visited George Aluo, the Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL), on Tuesday to offer his condolences following the death of Aluo's mother, Ezinne Bernadette Aluo, on July 11.

Mama was a devout Catholic who with her late husband raised children who Umuohiagu, Ngor Okpala and the entire country are proud of. We have lost a great woman and may God accept her gentle soul.

Nwogu, who represents Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala in the National Assembly, encouraged the Aluo family to remain strong during their time of grief. He spoke highly of Mama Bena, as she was known, describing her as a devout Catholic who, with her late husband, raised children who have made significant contributions to Nigeria. Nwogu acknowledged the loss of a great woman and prayed for her soul.

During the visit, Nwogu also expressed pride in the work Aluo is doing as the chairman of the NNL. He stated that he has been following Aluo's leadership and is proud that a "worthy son of Umuohiagu, Ngor Okpala" is transforming the nation's second-tier league.

I have been following what you are doing as chairman of NNL and I am proud that it is a worthy son of Umuohiagu, Ngor Okpala that has turned the league around.

In response, Aluo thanked Dr. Nwogu for taking the time to visit him, especially during a busy political period. Aluo also commended the lawmaker for his efforts in identifying and supporting indigent members of the Umuohiagu autonomous community, expressing his appreciation for Nwogu's financial assistance and empowerment initiatives.
