Lawyer criticizes opposing party for refusing to admit defeat

Lawyer Tsai Chun-ju, representing Fan Chiang Yen-feng, has launched a sharp critique against the opposing party in a legal dispute, accusing them of persistent denial and refusal to acknowledge their losses.

Tsai invoked a scene from the popular Taiwanese drama "The Making of an Ordinary Woman" to illustrate her point. She referenced the "five stages of grief," particularly the initial stage of "denial," to describe the opposing party's behavior. Tsai stated, "I now think of my opponents who refuse to admit fault and try to argue their way out; they've already lost to us, not just once, but they still try to argue?"

The lawyer's strong words came after Fan Chiang Yen-feng had previously explained his decision to temporarily suspend mortgage payments. He cited a lack of consensus on property division and outstanding financial claims as reasons for this "reasonable arrangement." Fan Chiang Yen-feng had also expressed a desire to end the public bickering.

However, Tsai's recent statement reignited the conflict. She directly questioned the opposing party's inability to admit wrongdoing, asking, "It's been so long, is it that hard to admit your mistakes?" She further elaborated, "Continue to deny. If you don't start the first stage, it's very difficult to reach acceptance. Praying to God won't help, and reading about letting go is just deceiving yourself." Tsai concluded her remarks with "So funny," underscoring her exasperation with the ongoing legal battle.
