The lawyer for Sasha Vuković, who is accused of murdering Aleksandar Nešović, has refuted allegations that prosecutor Nenad Stefanović acted outside the law during the investigation. Ivan Simić, Vuković's defense attorney, stated that all actions taken in the case adhered strictly to the Criminal Procedure Code and relevant regulations.

Simić's statement comes in response to a report published on July 18, which suggested that Prosecutor Stefanović requested a private meeting with Vuković and that they shared refreshments. The defense attorney dismissed these claims as unverified assertions based on anonymous sources, arguing they lack evidence and could mislead the public.

He emphasized that as Vuković's defense counsel, he was present during all his client's statements and confirmed that every procedural step was lawful and correct.

The case involves the murder of Aleksandar Nešović, allegedly by Vuković, whose body was found buried near Lake Jarkovačko. Vuković has been in custody since May 14, and an indictment for aggravated murder and illegal possession of firearms was filed on July 10 against him and five others.
