Léa Salamé, a prominent presenter for France 2's flagship 8 PM news program, has announced her temporary departure from the role. The decision comes after her partner, Raphaël Glucksmann, officially declared his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election.

Salamé revealed her withdrawal on Monday morning via an Instagram post, calling the move both "obvious and difficult." She explained that she would step back from presenting the 8 PM news for the duration of her partner's campaign, a measure she also took during the previous two European elections.
