Leandro Paredes's comeback: From losing his spot in Qatar to starting against Egypt

Leandro Paredes is poised to reclaim a starting spot in Argentina's midfield for their upcoming match against Egypt, marking a significant shift in the team's lineup. Paredes had lost his starting position during the Qatar World Cup after the team's loss to Saudi Arabia, and his return now signifies coach Lionel Scaloni's effort to reinforce the midfield and recover the team's lost identity.

Paredes, who arrived at the World Cup carrying a thigh tear, has been gradually regaining fitness and playing time. He has featured as a substitute in several matches and started one game when the team was already qualified. Scaloni explained that he had been considering Paredes's return for some time but needed to wait for him to fully recover and regain match rhythm.

The coach has been experimenting with the midfield, initially valuing Alexis Mac Allister's contributions.
