LeBron's agent thought star would pick another team

LeBron James's agent, Rich Paul, reportedly anticipated the NBA superstar would sign with a different team, with Miami initially appearing to be the most likely destination. However, James ultimately decided to join the Philadelphia 76ers, a move that surprised his agent.

Paul, head of Klutch Sports, shared his perspective on player decisions, noting that returning to a former team doesn't always guarantee the same positive experience. "When you've been in a certain place, when you've won there... If you go back there, everything might not be the same. You want to leave the memories as they were before," Paul was quoted as saying by ESPN.

James officially signed a two-year contract with the 76ers worth $8 million. The deal includes a player option, allowing him to decide after the first season whether to extend his contract for another year. This upcoming season will mark James's 24th in the NBA, a career spanning over two decades.

Throughout his illustrious career, James has played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Los Angeles Lakers. His move to Philadelphia marks his first time playing for the 76ers. Last season, he played 70 games, averaging 21.3 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.2 rebounds per game.
