Lee Jung-hoo Goes Hitless Against Atlanta as Kim Ha-seong Sits Out

Lee Jung-hoo's three-game hitting streak ended in Atlanta, but he still reached base and stole a bag in San Francisco's 7-3 comeback win over the Braves.

Batting fifth and playing right field at Truist Park on Sept. 1, Lee went 0-for-4 with a walk, a strikeout and his 12th stolen base of the season. The result lowered his season average from .291 to .288, based on 137 hits in 475 at-bats.

Lee grounded out to second against Atlanta starter Bryce Elder in his first at-bat. In the fourth inning, he walked as the leadoff hitter and stole second, but he was later thrown out trying to advance to third on a grounder by Andrew Knizner. Lee then grounded into a force play with runners on first and second in the fifth, flew out to right in the seventh and struck out on three pitches in the ninth.

San Francisco trailed 3-2 before scoring four runs in the sixth inning and adding another in the ninth. The victory gave the Giants two straight wins and left them fourth in the National League West with a 57-81 record. Atlanta fell to 82-56, but remained atop the National League East despite seeing its eight-game winning run end.

Kim Ha-seong, who plays for Atlanta, was left out of the starting lineup and never entered the game. He is batting .081 this season, with seven hits in 86 at-bats.
