Lee Su-ji to Undergo Vocal Cord Surgery; Activities to Resume Post-Recovery

South Korean comedian Lee Su-ji is set to undergo surgery for vocal cord nodules, her agency CP Entertainment announced on Monday.

"Lee Su-ji was recently diagnosed with vocal cord nodules and will receive treatment according to medical advice," the agency stated. "She plans to resume her activities after focusing on her recovery." CP Entertainment assured that they would provide the necessary support for her return to health. Specific details regarding the surgery date and recovery period were not disclosed.

However, the agency confirmed that pre-recorded content has been secured for her ongoing television programs, including the SBS variety show "Are You Serious?!" and her personal YouTube channel, "Hot Issue Ji." This ensures that her existing broadcast schedules will not be significantly impacted. The agency will monitor her health status post-treatment to coordinate future activities.

Lee Su-ji debuted as a comedian in 2008 and later re-debuted in 2012. She gained recognition for her role in the KBS comedy show "Hwanghae" and has since broadened her acting scope in various productions, including the Coupang Play comedy show "SNL Korea" and the office comedy "Office Workers." Her YouTube channel, "Hot Issue Ji," has also garnered attention for its fictional character skits.

She is also slated to appear in the upcoming ENA and Genie TV drama "Private 4: Sabotage," scheduled for release in the latter half of this year. Based on an animated series of the same name, the drama follows the latter half of Sergeant Park Min-seok's military service. Lee Su-ji will reprise her role as Park Min-ju, Park Min-seok's older sister and a formidable soldier.
