Leicester announce Aribo’s exit

Leicester City has confirmed that Joe Aribo will depart the club following the conclusion of his loan spell. This move is part of a significant summer clear-out announced in the club's retained list. A total of 10 men's first-team players will leave as their contracts expire this summer. Additionally, several players who were on loan, including Aribo, will return to their parent clubs.

The club is undergoing a squad restructuring after its relegation to League One. Extension options have been exercised on five academy players, and contract offers have been extended to several young players. Aribo, who joined Leicester on loan from Southampton, is among those returning to his parent club, where his contract runs until June 2026. Discussions for a permanent move for Aribo reportedly failed to progress, with indications that he was reluctant to continue playing in England's third tier.

Leicester also confirmed the exits of several senior players. Captain Ricardo Pereira departs after eight seasons and over 200 appearances. Other notable departures include Patson Daka, Jordan Ayew, Jamaal Lascelles, and academy graduate Wanya Marçal. Goalkeeper Asmir Begović is still in talks regarding a potential contract extension.
