LG's 41-Year-Old Kim Jin-seong Regains Hold Lead, Nears All-Time Record

LG Twins veteran pitcher Kim Jin-seong has reclaimed the sole lead in holds after a strong performance against Hanwha. The 41-year-old right-hander, often referred to as the "devoted left fielder" due to his longevity and dedication, pitched a perfect eighth inning on July 4th at Jamsil Stadium.

Kim entered the game with his team leading 5-3 and faced a challenging situation against Hanwha's cleanup hitter, Noh Si-hwan. He successfully retired Noh Si-hwan and the subsequent two batters, completing his inning without allowing any baserunners. This clean outing erased the memory of his previous appearance, where he struggled and gave up runs.

With this hold, Kim Jin-seong now has 176 career holds, placing him alone at the top of the KBO league's all-time list. He is now just one hold away from tying the record previously held by Ahn Ji-man, another prominent former pitcher.
