LG’s Cloi Robot Conducts an AI-Connected Home at Berlin Show

LG Electronics has turned its Cloi home robot into an orchestra conductor for its vision of the future home at IFA 2026 in Berlin.

At the entrance to the company’s exhibition space, Cloi moved both arms as lights came on across 31 appliances arranged in a semicircle. Refrigerators, washing machines, OLED televisions and air conditioners joined the performance, accompanied by orchestral music and a 16-by-4-meter kinetic LED display.

The presentation showed LG’s plan to connect a broad range of household products through artificial intelligence and place Cloi in overall control. Compared with the company’s previous CES presentation, this year’s display added televisions, laptops and air-conditioning products to the home-appliance lineup.

LG is also targeting European consumers who value compact living spaces, low energy costs and coordinated interiors. Its “Fit & Max” strategy combines close-fitting installation with maximum capacity, performance and energy efficiency. Wash towers and washer-dryer combinations match Europe’s standard 600-millimeter furniture depth. A zero-clearance hinge lets some refrigerators sit about 4 millimeters from cabinets while allowing the doors to open without hitting a wall.

The company displayed a washing machine that uses 70% less energy than the top European A rating, along with dishwashers and refrigerators that cut energy use by 30% and 35%, respectively. LG said it was extending higher efficiency beyond premium products, including dryers upgraded from B to A ratings.

Among the other products was the 9-millimeter-class LG Signature OLED W wallpaper television, which received the top award in the home entertainment category at the IFA Innovation Awards. The detachable 32-inch screen of the LG StanbyME 2 Max can be mounted on a wall or placed on a table. LG also introduced a hair dryer that uses sensors to maintain hair temperature at about 55 degrees Celsius, enters standby when set down and can connect to ThinQ for usage tracking and a pet mode.
