LG Twins' Austin Dean Nears 100 Career Home Runs in KBO League

Austin Dean, the foreign slugger for the LG Twins, is nearing a significant milestone in his KBO League career: 100 home runs. Dean has been a consistent power threat since joining the Twins in 2023, and he is poised to become the ninth foreign player in league history to achieve this mark.

Over his four seasons with LG, Dean has showcased impressive power and consistent hitting. In his debut year, he hit 23 home runs, helping the team secure a championship. He followed this with 32 home runs in 2024 and 31 in 2025, marking two consecutive seasons with over 30 homers. This season, he continues his strong performance, batting .336 and already hitting 13 home runs, placing him second in the league.

Dean hit his 99th career home run on May 8th against the Hanwha Eagles. With one more home run, he will join an elite group of foreign players who have reached the 100-homer plateau. The last foreign player to achieve this was Mel Rojas Jr. in June 2020, making Dean's potential accomplishment a notable event after a six-year gap.

Dean's individual success is also contributing to the LG Twins' strong team performance. The club currently leads the KBO League standings with a 33-20 record. The KBO plans to present Dean with a commemorative award should he reach the 100-homer milestone.
