Liam Payne's son named sole heir to $27 million fortune

Nearly two years after Liam Payne's death, the fate of the singer's fortune has been settled. New documents filed with the UK's High Court name Bear, the eight-year-old son of the former One Direction star and singer Cheryl Tweedy, as the sole heir.

Payne died in October 2024 after a fall at a hotel in Buenos Aires. As he left no will and was not married, British law dictated that his son would be the sole beneficiary. The court documents reveal that Bear will inherit 21 million pounds (over $27 million), slightly less than initially estimated.

The inheritance includes a five-bedroom house in Buckinghamshire, which Payne bought in 2021 to be close to his son after separating from Tweedy. The property was put up for sale after his death but later withdrawn from the market.

According to British press reports, part of the funds can be used for Bear's benefit, while the rest will be held in trust until he reaches the age of 18. Tweedy and music industry lawyer Richard Bray have been appointed as administrators of the estate. Payne's girlfriend at the time, Kate Cassidy, has reportedly made no claim on his assets.
