License Revoked on Same Day Received After Failing to Yield to Pedestrian

A novice driver in Turkey's Karadeniz Ereğli district faced a swift and harsh consequence for a traffic violation, having his newly acquired driver's license revoked on the very day he received it. The incident occurred during a drone-assisted traffic enforcement operation.

The driver, identified as Poyraz S., was stopped after failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk. As a probationary driver, he was issued an administrative fine of 5,662 Turkish Lira. Compounding his situation, it was discovered that he already possessed a motorcycle license, and accumulated traffic penalty points had reduced his eligibility.

The penalty points from the pedestrian violation pushed his total to a level that triggered the cancellation of his probationary license. The driver was reportedly in shock, lamenting that he had just spent 40,000 Turkish Lira to obtain his car license. He claimed he hadn't seen the pedestrian and expressed disbelief at receiving such a severe penalty immediately after getting his license.
